Lord Cadogan (1937 – 2023)
I am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Charles Gerald John, 8th Earl Cadogan KBE DL. Lord Cadogan led an admirable and fulfilling life, marked by his service in the First Battalion of the Coldstream Guards, his successful career at Schroders, and his crucial role in the family business, the Cadogan Estate. He was also an Old Etonian and dear school friend of my late husband, Julian Baring. His contributions as a businessman and philanthropist, along with his generous support for the Tait Memorial Trust, as a founding donor of our newly established Endowment Fund, left a lasting impact on us all.
I extend my sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and all those who knew and admired him. His loss will undoubtedly be felt deeply by many, and he will be remembered for his generosity and dedication to various causes, and his strong connections with Australia.
May his memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to us all during this difficult time.
