Help Support Young Artists Achieve Their Dream

We want to continue supporting students in major colleges with standard awards, as well as our own chosen artists, selected by our Music & Ballet/Dance Boards. So far, this approach has been incredibly successful. To go to the Royal Festival Hall and bump into one of our young cellists, or attend the ballet and see one of our dancers in the lead role, fills me with immense pride. It’s moments like these that remind me why our hard work is worth it. If you could help us continue this wonderful journey by supporting the next generation of performing artists, it would mean the world to us.

Some other recent notable successes include:

– Waynne Kwon, cello (NSW)
newly promoted sub principal cello with the London Philharmonic Orchestra – his studies were generously supported by the Higgins family

– Calvin Richardson, ballet (VIC)
first soloist with the Royal Ballet

– Cassandra Wright, soprano (QLD)
now under contract with Oper Freiburg. To sing in the Oper Bern Ring

– Derek Welton, baritone (VIC)
recently sang Wotan in Hamburg, he regularly sings principal roles at Bayreuth

– Filipe Manu, tenor (NZ)
graduate of the Royal Opera House young artist programme. Sang Tamino Magic Flute at ROH recently. Due to sing Ferrando Cosi fan tutte with Opera Australia

– Rebecca Blenkinsop, ballet (VIC)
Promoted to Junior First Artist at English National Ballet

We have a dedicated team, including James Hancock and Jeremy Vinogradov, who are passionate about our cause. James, a Joan Sutherland & Richard Bonynge awardee from 30 years ago, dedicates many hours to the Trust, while Jeremy, a former young baritone, has been by my side for many years.
I want to keep the memory of the Tait Brothers alive. They ran JCW for 49 years until the last brother, Frank Tait, passed away. I picked up the banner, and here we are 32 years later. It’s a legacy that must continue. We have a healthy endowment fund thanks to M&G and our generous Endowment donors. Many of our supporters are British, but there are also many Australians in the UK who might be interested in supporting our cause.
